Welcome Lion Cubs
The goal of our Lion Cubs Pre-School Program is to give children a funand positive first time experience in a classroom environment.
Mrs.Penny Mace, who has been with the program since 1997, teaches theclass. Mrs. Mace also has a full-time classroom assistant, Mrs. ErinSutton. Mrs. Sutton previously worked with the St. Rose ExtendedCare Program. Mrs. Sutton has been with the program since 2007.
Children entering the Lion Cubs program need to be 3 years old by August 1 andfully potty trained.
CLASSTIMES - Classes meet every Tuesday and Thursday
Each class holds a maximum of 12 children .

Curriculum - Whilesocial interaction is the main focus of our Lion Cub program, we alsofocus on introducing skills the children will need to enterKindergarten. Students learn these skills through structured play,circle time, and the use of age-appropriate learning centers.Students in the Lion Cub program work on shapes, colors, counting,cutting skills, coloring, crafts, and dramatic play. We alsointroduce them to the alphabet. Lion Cub students participate inage-appropriate religious instruction, story time, and music on aregular basis.
SkillsTesting - Thechildren participate in skills testing twice during the school year:once in fall, and once in spring. A parent/teacher conference is scheduled after the fall skills testing. Parents are welcome toconference with the teacher at any time if there are any concernsregarding their child.
Show and Tell - will be every Thursday. The children need to bring one itemfrom home to show the class. Live animals are welcome, but need tobe approved by the teacher before show and tell.
ClassroomParties - Thereare three parties scheduled throughout the school year, Halloween,Christmas and Valentine’s Day.
TheHalloween and Valentine’s Day parties take place during the lasthour of the class. Since there cannot be food or candy during theseparties, the teacher keeps the party simple.Pre-School Program
